Ex-Flat recruit Secret Force produced a smooth performance to win a Punchestown juvenile hurdle in good style back in October and his jumping let him down at Cheltenham after that. The drop in grade should help and he can get back on track here.

Williethebuilder is going the right way at the moment and has been in very good form, winning a couple of competitive races at Kempton in his last two starts. The seven-year-old gets on well with 5lb claimer Toby McCain-Mitchell and a 6lb rise might not be enough to stop him.
Paul Nicholls’ Insurrection was an impressive winner over course and distance at this very meeting last year and it was a promising effort when third here on seasonal debut. He should step forward plenty for it and is entitled to go close off an unchanged mark.
Mossy Fen Road looked very smart when winning a bumper at Wetherby in good style on his debut under rules and has continued to impress in two starts over hurdles. There was plenty to like about his smooth victory at Chepstow and he’s ready for the step up in grade.
Queens Gamble was a smart bumper horse and she went on to win both starts over hurdles as a novice. Harry Derham’s mare finished second in a good race at Newbury on handicap debut back in 2024 and winning a race of this stature off 134 shouldn’t be be beyond her.
Koukeo managed to win once over hurdles but has improved significantly for the switch to fences. He bolted up by 10 lengths at Windsor on his chasing debut and scored again at Haydock after that. Further progress is anticipated before the handicapper catches up.
Irish point runner-up The Hatchet struggled in bumpers but got off the mark at the first time of asking over hurdles at Perth in September. Third under a penalty after that, handicaps look like the way to go and a mark of 115 is reasonable.
Rock My Way produced an excellent performance to win the Berkshire National at Ascot on his penultimate start and that form gives him every chance here. Joe Tizzard’s gelding had excuses at Chepstow last time out and 1lb drop in the weights won’t go amiss either.
It’s no surprise Sonigino needed the run on his first start for 596 days at Newbury in November and he kept on well to finish third by a length last time out. The step up to three miles could suit on that evidence and he looks well treated on his best form.

Located in East Lothian in Scotland, Musselburgh Racecourse isn’t far from Edinburgh and is the second largest track in the country. It opened as a flat course in 1816 before introducing National Hunt racing in 1987 and continues to stage race days for both codes.
Course: The flat track is a right-handed 1 1/4 mile oval with tight turns, as it’s quite sharp we look for nimble, fast horses for our tips as they handle the configuration of the course better.
The jumps course is very level and also has sharp turns which can make it tricky for big, galloping types to get into a good rhythm. Both tracks can favour prominent racers but with the jumps circuit having just a 150 yard run in after the final flight, we don’t want our tips to be caught too far back.
Draw Bias: In general Musselburgh is a relatively fair track with regards to the draw, over 7 furlong and 1 mile races it is marginally favourable to be drawn high.
Feature Races: The two biggest races on the flat both take place in June with the Edinburgh Castle Stakes for two year olds and the Scottish Sprint Cup both taking place over the rapid 5 furlongs.
Over jumps they have established Scottish Trials Day ahead of the Cheltenham Festival. The meetings feature races are the Triumph Hurdle Trial and the Scottish County Hurdle.
