A small field Class 4 handicap chase for a prize of £4,549.
IN SUMMARY: MOVIE LEGEND ran a pleasing race when third at Kempton last time and can take a step forward here and take this. Bach De Clermont and Land League renew rivalry with the selection having been behind him last time but may have to settle for minor honours.
1 MOVIE LEGEND – Won nicely at the fourth time of asking over fences back in April and was far from disgraced when third on his reappearance last month. He is entitled to come on a chunk for that run and if doing so would have to play a big part in this company.
2 BACH DE CLERMONT – Renews rivalry with Movie Legend today having been two and half lengths behind him at Kempton last time. He jumped particularly badly on that occasion which leaves him with questions to answer but has a chance if improving in that department.
3 MERCIAN KING – Reappeared in August and has been in good form since then, winning twice and placing twice in five starts. He took his form to a new level when bolting up two starts ago but couldn’t cope with a nine pound rise last time and needs to prove he is good enough to win of this mark.
4 LAND LEAGUE – Was hampered a couple of times when behind both Movie Legend and Bach De Clermont last time out but remains with potential based off the form of his maiden win at Bangor. Dropped two pounds for last time where he has excuses and could go well.
5 CHESTNUT BEN – Formerly a pretty useful performer but has been badly out of form recently and was comfortably beaten at Leicester on Monday. Has the ability to win off this mark but will need a revival if he is to be competitive.
6 BROTHER BENNETT – Has yet to win over jumps in thirteen attempts and hasn’t gotten his nose in front since winning an Irish bumper in May 2014. He races from five pounds out of the handicap today and others are preferred on this occasion.
