8.10pm Newmarket Tips & Betting Preview 11/08/2017

This is a Class 3 handicap raced over 6f, see our betting tips and the full race preview below.

IN SUMMARY: TATLISU remains on a fair mark following a competitive effort last time out and whilst he may need slightly faster ground he has won on Good to Soft and he can come out on top today against a modest bunch. Reputation does have form on Soft ground and he can give the selection most to think about dropping into a slightly easier race than he faced last time out.

1 REPUTATION – John Quinn’s entry has only run once on Soft ground and certainly prefers faster ground although he should still run well here. He was only beaten 2 1/2 lengths last time out over 6 furlongs at Epsom and this looks slightly weaker today so there’s every chance he can go well again. He won a much better race than this off just 4lbs higher so he commands plenty of respect today.

2 JORDAN SPORT – Has winning form on Soft ground and he’s been a model of consistency this year with a host of placed efforts and a couple of victories on the All-Weather. He remains on a mark of 91 for a length defeat last time out and that looks fair for a yard going well at present with a 15% strike rate in the past fortnight. Jamie Spencer is booked to ride today.

3 MIRACLE OF MEDINAH – Non-runner.

4 WAQAAS – Lightly-raced son of Showcasing who seeks his first handicap win following a below par effort in a Class 2 C&D handicap last time out. He’s on good terms today with his 3yo allowance and he wasn’t beaten all that far in a Group 2 last season. He’s entitled to improve from his first run this season and he should go close for a jockey in hot form lately (26% strike rate in the past fortnight).

5 TATLISU – Without a win from 7 attempts on Soft ground although he hasn’t been beaten far on Good to Soft going recently. He won a low-grade claimer at Ripon back in June when well-supported and he’s better than that grade and can show that today. This is a shade harder than his last assignment when he finished second at Ayr but he proved himself to be on a fair mark and he should go well off the same mark today.

6 MAJOR PUSEY – John Gallagher’s runner has winning form on Soft ground and he will thrive on this surface. He took advantage of a falling mark earlier this season to score and he’s run well since including last time out when beaten just 1 3/4 lengths at Windsor. He should put in a bold bid in his ideal conditions off the same mark and could be well-supported in the betting.
