IN SUMMARY: Aljazzi is interesting over a new trip today, having won a 1m Listed event at Haydock last month, but it’s hard to get away from DISCIPLINE, who will be suited by today’s ground, managed to hit the target in Listed company on just her third start and has plenty of scope for further improvement. Kevin Manning rode the two Jim Bolger-trained fillies on the same card at the Curragh a week ago and, given Ringside Humour ran a big race to be placed in a valuable handicap, it looks significant that he has opted for her less-exposed stablemate, Cirin Toinne, here. Sir Michael Stoute’s runner Intimation has a bit to find but could also have a say.

1 Duchess Andorra – Generally in good form with headgear added this year and was placed in Listed company at Killarney (1m, good to firm) in July; seems to have had limitations exposed in Group races on last two outings, though, and might have her stamina stretched by today’s trip.

2 Ibergman – Back in form when winning Roscommon handicap (7f, heavy) in July and was evidently suited by the step up to 1m2f when a strong-finishing third back there last month; can give another good account here but has a bit to find on the figures with the principals.

3 Intimation – British-raider who won twice on softish ground last season and gave very good account when third in good-quality handicap at Glorious Goodwood (1m2f, good to firm) on latest outing in July; that form is below the required standard here but she’s in good hands and no surprise if she figures.

4 Laganore – Created good impression when winning Navan handicap (1m2f, good to firm) by 4l in May and should be fine on today’s slower ground but was slightly disappointing when tackling Group 3 company at Haydock later that month and fluffed a good opportunity when only second in a Tipperary conditions race last month; needs to get back on track.

5 Maudlin Magdalen – Capitalised on some help from the handicapper when beating 24 rivals to land a big pot at the Curragh (1m2f, yielding) a week ago; clearly in good heart but faces a tougher assignment at today’s weights and looks fully exposed.

6 Ringside Humour – Placed in four consecutive handicaps, most recently when close third to Maudlin Magdalen in valuable event at the Curragh a week ago; much better off at the weights with that rival here and will be suited by the slower ground, but riding arrangements suggest Cirin Toinne is the stable’s main hope.

7 Aljazzi – Predictably found the 1,000 Guineas too hot in May but appreciated the drop in class when winning a Haydock Listed event (1m, good to firm) in a first-time hood last month; won her 2yo maiden on slow ground and pedigree offers significant hope today’s step up in trip will suit; one to consider.

8 Cirin Toinne – Lightly raced 3yo who has run to a useful level on all three starts since her winning debut at Leopardstown (1m2f, good) in July, most recently when fourth of five in Group 2 contest at the Curragh (1m2f, yielding) a week ago; not yet fully exposed and can’t be ignored.

9 Discipline – Half-sister to the stable’s prolific Group/Listed winner Famous Name and has won two of her first three starts, more recently in Listed race at Naas (1m2f, good to yielding) in June; proven on slow ground and could easily have a lot more to offer; sports first-time hood; commands respect.

10 How High The Moon – Yet to add to last summer’s debut success and needs to bounce back from a disappointing effort at Galway a fortnight ago but was placed in Listed company at Naas (1m2f, good to yielding) in June and won’t be far away if matching that performance here.

11 Radiantly – Runner-up in a Group 3 event at Leopardstown (1m, good) in May and was very creditable fourth in the Sandringham Handicap at Royal Ascot (1m, soft) the following month; in the mix if in similar form here but has questions to answer after a couple of below-par performances.

12 Sea Swift – Built upon mildly encouraging debut when winning Naas maiden (1m, good to yielding) in June and easily followed-up in a small-field conditions race at Sligo (1m2f, heavy) last month; takes on much stronger company here and Pat Smullen evidently prefers Discipline, but it’s hard to gauge the limit of her ability.
