1.50pm Thurles Tips & Betting Preview 01/12/2016

Although only 5 entries for this Mares contest but 2 horses catch the eye for the future.. See our full race preview and betting tips below.

IN SUMMARY: This is most likely between Miss Me Now and MONBEG ROSE, with preference for the latterly named Elliot runner. Although not progressing as much as probably expected, she receives weight from the Mullin’s runner and looks to be the only pace angle in the race which will play into her favour. She comes back from a run over fences and should run a big race now back over the smaller obstacles.

1 MISS ME NOW – Back from break with an eased down victory at Clonmel 2 weeks ago (2m, Yielding), showing she had improved nicely for her summer break. Should strip even fitter for that run but does concede weight all around which could be a hindrance, although she may well be good enough to do so, respected.

2 MONBEG ROSE – Returns to hurdling after an unsuccessful chase run and although not the most progressive, she has posted some decent efforts in the past in higher grades and ran well when last seen over these obstacles at Wexford in October (2m4f, Good). After that run a shorter trip does seem sensible and receives weight from her main market rival, she should make a bold bid from the front, as she will most likely be afforded a soft lead.

3 SIDE SADDLE – Should strip fitter for her recent comeback at Wexford (2m4f, Soft to Heavy) but the drop back in trip isn’t an obvious plus and she needs to improve to trouble the principles here, so may struggle to land a blow.

4 KALOPSIA – Won a maiden at Galway on penultimate start (2m, Yielding) but isn’t improving and hasn’t hit the standard required to win this race, so may well struggle today regardless.

5 AYELYA – Poor form in the context of this race and unless the blinkers bring out some form of superhuman improvement, she has no chance today.

myracing Forecast Prices: 8/13 Miss Me Now, 2/1 Monbeg Rose, 4/1 Kalopsia, 16/1 Side Saddle, 66/1 Ayelya
