1.49pm Crayford Race Preview 21/08/2018

Droopys Hyde returns to action today for the myracing.com Syndicate at Crayford where he’s looking to notch up his first victory over the sharp fours bends. We’ll take a closer look at his chances as well as the other competitors in the race.

Today’s preview comes from one of our syndicate managers, David Mitchell.

Today’s Syndicate Runner

Droopys Hyde – Often shown moments of magic for the syndicate but on occasions failed to live up to expectations. It’s been well documented that he’s had his problems in the past and we were delighted to see him win over 6 bends here in mid-July. He’s a better dog over the extended trip but we take our chance in what looks a weak race for the grade. He’s more than capable on his day, let’s hope it’s today.

Today’s Opponents

 Daretobe Smart – Classified as a pensioner these days but she still retains her love for the game. She was a little unlucky to be touched off by a head on two occasions in recent weeks. She’ll need to be much better at the boxes to land a significant blow in this field. For us she’d be one to keep an eye on without really worrying the main protagonist.

Cals Cottage – Recent victory still fresh in the memory and if he could reproduce that effort he would have a huge chance here. He’s a young dog that might have plenty of improvement for departing trainer Barry O’Sullivan. If he can put his most recent effort behind him we think he’ll be there as they spin for the judge.

Kelva Elvis – Jim Daly home-bred that has taken time to come to hand since an injury sustained back in March. A drop in grade is probably around the corner for this dog and until we see his form shift then we’d be passing over him.

Moaning Cocktail – Had been running well in defeat in a high grade than this recently. The racing manager has given him a chance to land his first victory for quite a while and if fully tuned up he’ll have a chance here. He’s in-form and the backers will be on him today.

 Forourenjoyment – A recent 23.78 trial is excellent in the context of this race. Like T5 she’s been given a huge chance with a drop in grade today. She has bags of early and she would be our idea of the winner in this field. If she can hold her wide line into the first couple of bends she’ll surely have enough to take this.
