Willie & Patrick Mullins team up with their first ever runner at Bangor on Friday

The powerhouse that is Willie Mullins will make another venture to British soil on Friday and this time the Closutton team will grace the turf at Bangor for the very first time. Mullins’ son Patrick will also be taking a ride at the track for the very first time. You will find all of our daily horse racing tips on the website but let’s look at this horse in more detail below now.

1.35 Bangor

Fine Margin is no stranger to British shores and has actually done the majority of his racing in Britain since joining Mullins from the Matthew Daly camp last year. Four of his five starts for Mullins have been on British soil and on stable debut he ran a huge race when second in a 3m premier handicap hurdle for stayers’ at Haydock last November.

Pulled up next time at the Dublin Racing Festival, he took his chance in a premier handicap hurdle at Aintree but finished midfield, so a new strategy was then employed. Sent off the 1/9 favourite for a Fontwell maiden hurdle in May, Patrick Mullins steered him to a cosy victory before following up in a three-runner novice hurdle at Worcester in May after drifting like a barge all day (sent off 10/11 favourite).

It looks like decent ground is the key to this horse and the team have pinpointed another very winnable race for Fine Margin in this extended 2m3f novice hurdle. He might not have it all his own way however, as the red-hot John McConnell stable will run Jumping Susie against him but on figures the Mullins horse should win.
