Willie Mullins’ tour of Britain continues as he has first ever Sedgefield runner on Tuesday

The powerhouse that is Willie Mullins will make another venture to British soil on Tuesday and this time the Closutton team will grace the turf at Sedgefield for the very first time. Brian Hayes will be taking a ride at the track and it will be his fifth career ride at the track. You will find all of our daily horse racing tips on the website but let’s look at this horse in more detail below now.

12.55 Sedgefield

He is a quirky boy and isn’t easy to win with so beware when taking a short price about Mr Escobar in the opening 2m1f novices’ hurdle. Despite being rated 87 on the Flat and without doubt has plenty of ability, the six-year-old has only won once in his career and that was a 1m4f Dundalk maiden early last year when trained by Joseph Murray.

Winless in ten starts for Willie Mullins, the dual-purpose performer has run a couple of big races for the yard. His best run on the Flat was when narrowly denied in second in the Watergate Cup handicap at Chester in September, while his best effort over timber was when second at Listowel on his next outing.

Sixth in a premier handicap back on the Flat when last seen, he clearly sets a big standard in the context of this race, but you would be a brave soul to take a short price about him, that’s for sure. There’s a couple in here who will give him plenty to think about and when he gets eyeballed late on, he usually calves. Let’s see what he does on this occasion.
