The Fairyhouse Easter Festival is always a terrific weekend of racing and the highlight is the Irish Grand National which is on Monday so stay tuned for our free horse racing tips throughout the three day event. Willie Mullins has an extremely strong squad of horses to do battle with on Sunday and if all five of these horses win, which is possible, backers could take the bookmakers to the cleaners.
Mullins has won this race five times since 2013 and Ashroe Diamond has a strong chance this year. She won the Solerina Mares Novices’ Hurdle at this track in January and swerved Cheltenham so clearly this has been the target. Big chance with Paul Townend in the plate.
Sporting the familiar Al Boum Photo Donnelly colours, Parmenion was very impressive when landing a Leopardstown maiden hurdle last month. The form might not be up to much but the manner of the victory was very eyecatching and he can progress.
Mullins has won seven of the last nine runnings of this race and Hunters Yarn can add to the yard’s tally. He won his bumper at this meeting last year and looked a revelation over hurdles this season until he disappointed in the County Hurdle at Cheltenham. He will find this a good deal easier.
Fourth behind Brandy Love in the Grade 1 mares’ hurdle at this festival last year, Dinoblue should be too good for her rivals in handicap company here. She bumped into one in the Grand Annual at Cheltenham last month but this is a much easier assignment.
Appreciate It was only half a length behind the reopposing Mighty Potter at Cheltenham last month yet is a far bigger price than that rival here. He is being potentially underestimated by the bookmakers and is still unexposed over fences. The best is yet to come for this lad.
