There’s some good racing to look forward to across the day on Wednesday and the Grade 3 Matchbook Betting Exchange Chase is the main event. Sean Bowen is the man to follow at Ffos Las, so we’ve picked out a few of his best chances and there’s an eye-catching jockey/trainer combination at Kempton. Take a look at our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Punchestown provides the day’s best race and a field of four is set to go to post for the Grade 3 Matchbook Betting Exchange Chase. Henry de Bromhead’s Gorgeous Tom is popular in the betting and he was last seen finishing third in the Galway Plate, which was a good effort off a high mark.
Croke Park showed a fair amount of potential as a novice chaser and he managed to win a Grade 1 novice chase at Leopardstown back in 2024. Things didn’t quite go to plan last season but he is capable of better and this is a good opportunity to get back on track.
Apple’s Of Bresil won a beginners’ chase at Kilbeggan with plenty in hand on his penultimate start, which was his first start over fences, but the ratings suggest he has plenty to find with the two main candidates. Smallcraftwarning has a rating of 100 and appears to be well out of his depth.
The Boola Boss was a winner at Chepstow on his penultimate start back in April and it would be dangerous to rule out a big run from Rebecca Curtis’ nine-year-old.
Ben Solo also represents the Rebecca Curtis yard and there’s plenty more to come from him over fences. Second in a better race at Chepstow last time out, he’s a serious contender off the same mark.
Leading trainer and jockey Charlie Appleby and Billy Loughnane have a 50 per cent strike-rate when combining at Kempton and they will be represented by Noble Prince. He was third on handicap debut at Haydock last time out and there should be plenty more to come from the two-year-old.
