There’s a competitive seven-race card from Kempton on Wednesday evening. Three of the races provide plenty of each-way opportunities to take advantage of. With this in mind, we’ve selected three outsiders at substantial prices that could outrun their odds. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Royal Razzmatazz (16-1, bet365) showed signs of improvement between his first and second starts. Started off at Southwell over 7f and blew his chances with a very slow start, giving the field a massive head start. It was actually a fair effort to finish sixth by eight lengths after blowing the start so badly. Next time out was a different story and he over-raced throughout which caused him to fade. Clearly learning on the job and if he can find the middle ground, he’ll have a better chance than this price suggests.
Vertical (25-1, bet365) has only had four career starts so far. It’s probably wise not to give up on her just yet on that evidence. She put in a fair effort on the third of those starts when beaten by just under three lengths in a seller at Leicester. Keeping on well that day, she also lost a shoe which wouldn’t have helped her cause. Far too keen on handicap debut at Chelmsford last time but would have learnt plenty from that experience. The handicapper dropped her 2lb for that effort and the best is yet to come.
Moonlit Cloud (14-1, bet365) last won at Bath in July off a 3lb lower mark. Returned after a break at Chelmsford last month and seemed to need the run. It was a much better effort over course and distance last time out when finishing third. This mare should be well capable of running her race again and may even improve now that she’s back into the grove.
