‘We will see a much better showing back down in grade’ – Friday outsiders to follow
It’s another day of great action and Adrian Wall is back with his weekly feast of outsiders. He has picked out three horses who should outrun their large odds on Friday. Adrian is in cracking form and had provided followers with cracking 25/1 and 18/1 winners recently. Best of luck if you follow him in.
2.05 Haydock
John Wainwright has had a couple of winners in the last number of weeks and perhaps Biplane is handicapped to strike now too in the 1m apprentice handicap. The mare won off 65 at Newcastle on the all-weather in February and is only 1lb higher now on turf, while her latest run at Doncaster was fill of promise, beaten just over three lengths when sixth of 13 over the 7f. She should be in the mix here if she puts her best foot forward.
4.10 Newbury
Kolkata Knight has opened up the rank outsider of the field at around 25/1 but Tom Dascombe’s colt isn’t out of things here at all. The son of Cotai Glory absolutely dotted up on debut at Hamilton in May and the runner-up has won since to give the form a nice boost. He disappointed in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot when last seen but perhaps we will see a much better showing back down in grade here.
5.50 Newmarket
Saxon Lover can be expected to improve on his second start for Charlie Johnston. He looked very raw on debut at Thirsk earlier in the month when a well beaten fifth over the mile, but he was only getting the hang of things late on and he should be much sharper now.
