6:10 Kempton – Sheberghan – 1pt win @ 9/1
SHEBERGHAN hasn’t had the career his breeding suggested may be possible but he’s still only a 4-year-old and made a promising start for Ed Dunlop’s yard when beaten little more than a few lengths over at Pontefract last month. That was his first outing since April, so he’s entitled to improve fitness-wise, and returning to the All-Weather shouldn’t be a problem based on his third at Lingfield in January. From a mark of 77, he could be dangerously treated and Jim Crowley is a good booking for this yard.
7:25 Newcastle – Excessable – 1pt win @ 14/1
Now a full 10lbs below his last winning mark, EXCESSABLE is becoming a more tempting proposition and looks overpriced at any double-figured quote. He was a bit disappointing last time out but had shaped well on his penultimate start at Musselburgh, beaten a length-and-a-half after travelling with encouragement and not getting the clearest of runs. An artificial surface is somewhat of a question mark but he did run a fine race over C&D in 2017 and it’s worth taking a punt that it won’t hinder him.
