We highlight some of the interesting stats and facts for Tuesday’s racing, including Willie Mullins sending one runner across to Sedgefield.
At the age of four, Aighear won the closing 1m7f handicap at Ayr (5.13) and she did so again in 2025 at the juicy odds of 14/1. Well, the now 8yo is back to try win and win the race for the third time and she will hold every chance under Paul Mulrennan. Beaten only two lengths at Hamilton when last seen, she adores the mud and will have her conditions here. Her last success was here and although still a few pounds above her last winning mark, she is entitled to go very close.
Willie Mullins is sending one runner across to Sedgefield on Tuesday and his son Patrick will take the ride. The horse in question is Whitewinewednesday in the 2m4f handicap hurdle (3.45). She hasn’t shown her best form in recent outings and bitterly disappointed when sent off favourite on her first run for the yard at Limerick in May when pulled up, possibly excused though as she raced on the deep inside in the mud and it proved costly. The tongue-tie goes on now and she is of interest on her return from a break.
In the closing bumper at Sedgefield (4.45), Dublin-based trainer Cian Hughes also sends a runner in the form of Red Shea. The son of Crystal Ocean really caught the eye when second of 17 at Cork over 2m2f on debut in August, albeit no match for the winner Green Style who looks an exciting prospect for Team Mullins. With just three rivals to worry about here, he can be expected to go close.
