Trainer with incredible strike-rate sends just one runner to Chepstow 👀

Charlie and Mark Johnston aren’t afraid to send horses anywhere in the pursuit of winners. A good example of this is the fact that they have sent 14 runners to Brighton from their Yorkshire base. Therefore it could be significant that they have sent just three runners to Chepstow so far this season and two of which have won. It’s not like them to be so selective and their 67 per cent strike-rate is hard to ignore. They send just one runner to the Welsh track on Thursday and it has an outstanding chance. 1.30 Chepstow

Rainbow Colours (4-5, William Hill) took a marked step forward when winning at her first attempt over a mile at Ripon last time out. Previous to that so far this season she had shown little over 6f, 7f and 1m2f but appears to have found her trip. She’s due to go up 6lb for that win but appears here under a 6lb penalty anyway.

Having also won cosily there as a juvenile, her record at Ripon stands at an undefeated two from two. If she can replicate her form at Ripon here, there’s a big chance the filly will win again. Still lightly raced, Rainbow Colours has had just eight career starts so there should be more to come.

The market hasn’t missed her though and the currently available odds are pretty skinny. This price is fully justified though as she’s a potentially progressive two-time winner up against three rivals who have yet to prove they are capable of winning.
