We have plenty of good racing to look forward to across Britain and Ireland on Tuesday with five meetings to whet the appetite but we have come across a nice statistic that could be of use at Musselburgh Racecourse. You can find all of our free horse racing tips on the website and our Nap of the Day in particular has been in brilliant form the last couple of months. Let’s discuss the stat in more detail now below.
Trainer Philip Kirby doesn’t head north to Musselburgh all too often but he has sent three winners up to the Scottish venue from just six runners this year, a brilliant 50% strike-rate, and his sole representative on the card is Himself who runs in the mile nursery handicap.
What makes this horse even more interesting is the jockey booking as Paul Mulrennan has been booked for the job. Mulrennan is the top jockey at Musselburgh this year with seven winners from 30 rides at the track, a very healthy 23% return, and this son of Coulsty has to be of interest on handicap debut.
Himself was far from disgraced in three runs to date, seventh at Ayr over 7f on debut before a couple of average runs at Catterick over 7f and Newcastle when dropped down to 6f. Handicaps would have always been the plan for this runner so it will be interesting to watch the market and see which way he goes.
When a Kirby horse is strong in the market it is a real positive sign and this looks a winnable contest so it would be no surprise to see the money come.
