Trainer bids to follow up 436/1 Wolverhampton double with one runner on Monday

Lambourn-based trainer Jamie Osborne had a particularly good time of things at Wolverhampton on Saturday. Two of his three runners at the track won, at odds of 18/1 and 22/1 respectively, providing him with a 436/1 double. He’s set to send just one runner to the midlands track on Monday so we’ve had a detailed look at the horse’s chances.

7.00 Wolverhampton

Many A Star has won seven races throughout his career and he’s now back down to 77, off which he won at Southwell in April, and that makes him worth considering here. Jamie Osborne’s two winners on Saturday give him a 67 per cent strike-rate at Wolverhampton in 2025, which is a positive omen indeed.

The son of Starspangledbanner is probably better on turf but he does have two all-weather wins to his name. Rob Hornby has been booked for the ride here and the eight-year-old is well treated enough to suggest that return to winning ways shouldn’t be ruled out.

Having one winner at a big price is one thing but two on the same card definitely catches the eye. Top Biller lived up to his name with victory at 18/1 in the 6f handicap at 7.30 on Saturday evening and Imperial Fighter battled to success at odds of 22/1 in the closing race.

Whilst this price of Many A Star isn’t going to be anywhere near as big, he could be worth shortlisting after Osborne’s weekend exploits.
