Three horses that will love the soft ground at Haydock form 713-1 Friday treble 😍

Conditions look set to be pretty testing at Haydock on Friday, as the current going description is soft. This is not likely to suit every runner on the day as not all horses act on testing ground, especially on the Flat. Races at Haydock can become a bit of a slog when the rain comes and this could make a huge difference to the results. With this in mind, we’ve picked out three runners on Friday with proven records on soft and combined them into a treble. 3.15 Haydock

Cold Stare (5-2, bet365) is no stranger to soft ground as four of his five career victories have come on soft and the other came on heavy. Having also finished second six times on soft, it’s fair to say he thrives in these conditions. David O’Meara’s gelding has been in solid form of late and deserves to get his head in front. Mark Winn takes 3lb off here and that could prove to be the difference.

3.50 Haydock

Prince Alex (5-1, bet365) is a three-time winner on soft ground in only six starts. He has struggled a bit in two starts this season but the handicapper is beginning to relent as a result. Currently rated 4lb lower than his last winning mark, he has to be of interest down in the weights. The trip and ground combination is perfect for him and a return to the winners’ enclosure could be on the cards.

5.00 Haydock

Glory And Gold (price, bet365) is the only runner in this race to have won on soft ground. That victory came in a Catterick novice over this trip of 7f. Bitterly disappointing on seasonal reappearance at Beverley in May, she will need to improve significantly on that effort. Her soft ground win gives her an edge here and she may well take full advantage.
