Three horses sent on 700-mile trips to Ayr form a juicy 24/1 treble on Thursday

Ayr‘s biggest Flat meeting of the year gets underway on Thursday and the competitive racing has attracted the attention of some southern raiders. Several Newmarket trainers are sending horses on the 700-mile trip up to Scotland, three of which are particularly interesting. With that in mind, we’ve combined them into a treble and included a betslip for those who want to get involved. Take a look at our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

2.45 Ayr

Crowd Quake (4/1, bet365) began the season with a handicap mark of 46 but after winning seven times already, he’s now up to a mark of 81. Stuart Williams’ four-year-old is equally as competitive over any trip from a mile to 1m4f and three of his successes have come over 1m2f. Due to go up another 5lb, now is a good time to catch him, as he reappears off an unchanged mark.

3.15 Ayr

Aeolian (5/6, bet365) showed plenty on debut at Chester back in July when finishing second. This royal runner then went one better in a Newmarket novice last month and the runner-up has boosted the form by winning since. She then struggled in Listed company but handicaps should help and improvement is anticipated.

5.20 Ayr

Golden Handshake (7/4, bet365) could give the King and Queen an excellent day, if he obliges in the finale. William Haggas’ gelding looked very smart when winning a Lingfield maiden by five lengths in June and he followed up on handicap debut at Newbury the following month. This race is easier than his last task and we should see a much more competitive performance as a result.
