‘This smells like a plot’ – 33-1, 28-1 and 25-1 Cheltenham Festival Day 3 outsiders 👊

2.10 Cheltenham

Level Neverending (33-1, Paddy Power) wasn’t given a hard time when finishing third in a qualifier for this race at Warwick last time out. He only needed to finish in the first four so it was mission accomplished. That was his handicap debut and he’s actually been dropped 2lb by the handicapper for that effort. This smells like a plot and you can expect considerable improvement this time around.

4.10 Cheltenham

Coole Cody (28-1, William Hill) certainly isn’t getting any younger and is no spring chicken at the age of 12. I absolutely cannot fathom why he’s running here off a 2lb lower mark than when winning this race by six-and-a–half lengths last year. The handicapper loves to give this horse a chance and has done so again here. He loves it round here and has won at Cheltenham four times at trips between 2m4f and 2m5f. His latest effort was disappointing but it did cause a 4lb drop in the weights and this is surely a massive price.

5.30 Cheltenham

Ballykeel (25-1, bet365) got off the mark over fences when upped to an extended 3m1f at Fairyhouse last time out. This 3m2f trip with a stiff uphill finish will suit him down to the ground. Jockey bookings would suggest that this is Gordon Elliott’s second string but Harry Swan is an excellent up and coming amateur. It would be no surprise if this horse outruns these odds and his stablemate.
