‘This is an attractive mark’ – One outsider for every Racing League race at Chepstow

The Racing League has its critics but the format does provide something a little bit different. It returns at Chepstow on Thursday and all seven races will be live on ITV. We’ve picked out a potentially overpriced outsider in each race for those who like to have an each-way play. Take a look at our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

5.30 Chepstow

Diamondonthehill (14/1, bet365) has been generally very consistent of late and it’s therefore easy to forgive his below-par display at Goodwood. His second at Windsor off a 1lb higher mark before that was a decent effort and he should be competitive here on that evidence.

6.00 Chepstow

Nine-year-old Lyndon B (16/1, Boylesports) has won five times and the most recent of those successes came at Windsor last time out. The handicapper has put him up 3lb, which looks pretty reasonable, and he won with enough in hand to suggest this mark isn’t beyond him.

6.30 Chepstow

King’s Lynn (10/1, bet365) returned to winning ways with a game performance at Haydock on his penultimate start. Andrew Balding’s eight-year-old has some excellent form in the book, which makes this look like a very attractive mark.

7.00 Chepstow

Dapper Gee Gee (20/1, bet365) needs a career-best performance to win here but that’s certainly not out of the question. Winning over course and distance in June, he has finished second in his last couple of starts and should be in the mix once again.

7.30 Chepstow

Our Planet (14/1, bet365) is the least exposed runner in the field and that should be a big advantage. Michael Keady’s gelding got off the mark in a maiden over this trip at Leicester when last seen and he looks ready for a return to handicaps.

8.00 Chepstow

Per Contra (14/1, bet365) won a 1m4f handicap off a 5lb higher mark last season and that form suggests he’s more than capable of making the frame. It was a fair effort when third at York last time and he’s clearly competitive at this sort of level.

8.30 Chepstow

Qitaal (11/1, Boylesports) returned to form with an excellent second at Yarmouth two weeks ago, for which he’s been put up 1lb. That shouldn’t prove to be an insurmountable rise and apprentice jockey Archie Young takes 5lb off.
