The second Racing League fixture takes place at Lingfield on Thursday and the action looks very competitive. Every race will be live on ITV4 which provides easy access to what should be a great night of racing. One interesting method of picking winners is to go for horses with proven records at the track. We’ve gone one step further and selected four horses who are yet to taste defeat at Lingfield and will be defending their 100 per cent records. When combined, they form a massive 2,772-1 accumulator. Honky Tonk Man (7-1, Paddy Power) is not only defending his unbeaten record at Lingfield but he’s yet to taste defeat on an all-weather surface. He won a novice event at Lingfield in October and the third has since won three times. The handicapper dropped him a pound for his latest turf effort and he’s likely to thrive back on the sand.
Le Forban (9-1, bet365) is two from two at Lingfield and you wouldn’t want to rule out the possibility of it becoming three from three. Having been dropped 2lb for his latest effort, he could be a dangerous contender. George Baker’s gelding’s last win came here three starts ago off a 5lb lower mark. It was a comfortable victory and he could go in again off this mark.
Prydwen (7-1, Paddy Power) won here four starts ago before going on to score at Wolverhampton in similarly comfortable fashion next time out. Two disappointing efforts on the turf followed but this horse is also defending a 100 per cent record on the all-weather. Returning to the sand and being on a 1lb lower mark should facilitate a big run.
Neandra (10-3, bet365) couldn’t have been more impressive over course and distance last time. On the evidence of that victory, this 8lb higher mark shouldn’t stop her. She has also won both starts here and as she’s so lightly raced, you would expect there’s plenty more to come still.
