Carlisle is a really stiff track with a pronounced uphill finish so they have to get up the hill. With this in mind, it’s best to avoid horses whose best form comes on flatter tracks. To give you a helping hand, we’ve picked out three runners on Tuesday who have excellent course records at Carlisle. They should have an advantage here and when combined, they form an attractive-looking 47-1 accumulator. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Monsieur Kodi (9-4, William Hill) is a two-time winner already this season and has clearly flourished since going handicapping. The first of these wins came over course and distance where he beat Stone Circle who has subsequently gone on to win three times. That was his only start here, giving him an unblemished record. He’s a stone higher in the weights now but there could be more to come.
Ventura Flame (3-1, William Hill) has six career starts at Carlisle to her name. With two wins and two seconds, her record is formidable. She has finished second in her last two starts and is creeping up the weights but the form of her last run has been boosted with the winner scoring again since. Her last win was an impressive course and distance victory in May and she should go well again.
Detective (11-4, William Hill) is part of the furniture at Carlisle. In 13 career starts, he has only failed to finish in the first two on one occasion. This record includes four wins which equates to 80 per cent of his total career victories. His last two starts were both placed efforts including off this mark last time and another win looks to be on the cards soon.
