‘There’s no better track for him’ – Monster ITV horses for courses Lucky 15 on Friday

The ITV cameras will be heading to Newcastle on Friday evening and seven of their nine races will be televised. Newcastle’s tapeta surface combined with the stiff finish mean the track doesn’t suit every horse so course form can be important. With that in mind, we’ve selected four horses with proven course records and combined them into a monster Lucky 15 on Friday. Take a look at our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

6.00 Newcastle

Bonito Cavalo wins here more often than not, with six victories to his name in 11 course starts, so there’s no better track for him. Jim Goldie’s seven-year-old was last successful over course and distance back in March 2024, off a 16lb lower mark, and he looks very well treated on that evidence.

Blue Force has a 67 per cent strike-rate here at Newcastle, winning two of his three starts. The son of Blue Point won off a 3lb higher mark at Wolverhampton in December and wasn’t beaten too far when fifth last time out. Having been dropped 1lb since, he’s entitled to be very competitive here.

Paddy’s Day certainly knows his way around here, having won seven of his 12 course starts, and the most recent of those came off a 2lb lower mark December. Nigel Tinkler’s gelding wasn’t beaten far when third off this mark in a Class 2 last time out and should be right in the mix once again.

Bright has a very healthy course strike-rate of 33 per cent and the most recent of his three course wins came last time out. The handicapper has responded with a 4lb rise and Luke Morris is a notable jockey booking. Another big run could be on the cards.
