‘The sabbatical is well and truly over’ – Dettori rides form 101-1 treble at Newbury 🏇🏻

Frankie and Enable at York

The band are back together as the John & Thady Gosden and Frankie Dettori partnership has been reformed in recent weeks. It seems as if the sabbatical is well and truly over and normal service has been resumed. Dettori takes the rides on all three of Gosden’s runners at Newbury on Friday. All three have a chance and when combined, they form a 101-1 treble. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

1.00 Newbury

Bresson (5-4, bet365) has the benefit of two previous runs under his belt. He’s a regally bred colt by Dubawi and out of a Group 3-winning mare. Having been just touched off by a subsequent Group 2 runner-up at Newmarket last time, a big run seems likely. Looks like a winner in-waiting and there’s every chance this could be the day.

1.33 Newbury

It’s hard to rule out a horse owned by the Coolmore partners, especially when they’re sired by Galileo. Lisboa (5-2, bet365) is no different as he makes his debut here. Another impeccably bred colt, his dam placed in Group 2 company over 6f for Aidan O’Brien. Combining Galileo with quick mares tends to create classy progeny over a mile so 7f seems like a good starting point as a juvenile.

2.08 Newbury

Foretell (12-1, bet365) will need to take a significant step forward from her debut at Ripon. She’s perfectly entitled to do so however and it’s quite probable that she would have learnt plenty from the experience. The form has been boosted by the winner who ran well enough in the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot. If she can be stronger at the finish this time round, a much improved performance will be on the cards.
