‘The place is a bog when it’s wet’ – Three soft ground lovers at Limerick on Tuesday 🌧️

It might not be the most attractive card in the world at Limerick Racecourse on Tuesday but it is always a place where soft ground horses thrive. Limerick is soft on a good day usually and it’s always wise to go with horses who have form in the mud and who stay further as it is a stiff track too. Let’s take a look at the three who I think could go well on Tuesday.

12.57 Limerick

Buddy One is turned out very quickly off the back of his impressive win at Fairyhouse just three days ago. He was quite well supported on the day and relished the soft conditions. Now, Buddy One must race off a 7lb penalty on his handicap debut but he has to be high on the pecking order as he is only one of a few in the field who arrive here in form.

3.17 Limerick

Port Rashid‘s two wins have come on either soft or heavy ground and with a good few horses way out of form in this handicap, the 12 year old might be able to bounce back to form and play a hand. He ran a respectable race off the back of a short break at Roscommon when last seen back in September and could go well fresh here.

3.52 Limerick

Willie Mullins holds all the aces with the likely favourite and second favourite in this bumper but it’s Captain Cody who can come out on top. This lad finished ahead of the reopposing Blizzard Of Oz when second at Punchestown in December, relishing soft on the day. He can confirm the pecking order again.
