Colour Code remains fairly lightly raced, especially in handicap company, and it’s too early to give up on her just yet. She was beaten by a nose when second in a 7f maiden at Kempton for Clive Cox as a juvenile and the horse that beat her is now rated 88.
Showing a good attitude that day, she stuck to the task well and shaped as if she would get further in time. Things haven’t exactly gone to plan since joining Linda Perratt but she wasn’t disgraced when sixth off a mark of 60 at Doncaster last time out.

Albegone has already won over course and distance this term and Tim Easterby’s five-year-old looks very well treated now on a 2lb lower mark. It was also a fair effort when second off a 2lb higher mark at Thirsk on his penultimate start and he should be running a big race with that in mind.
