The draw bias at Chester is probably the most severe of any track in Britain but Beverley’s 5f course isn’t far behind. Horses with a low draw simply have a massive advantage, as the bias is infamous. Due to the track’s undulations, horses with a high draw start lower down the hill than those on the inside, which is obviously a significant disadvantage.
There are three 5f races at Beverley on Wednesday so we’ve selected three horses with excellent draws that can give them a massive edge. Take a look at our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Dream More didn’t have an ideal draw when third over course and distance on debut and that was exacerbated by a slow start. He’s entitled to improve for the run and stall two is a much better draw this time around. Trainer Tim Easterby has had plenty of winners in the last couple of weeks and this son of Dream Ahead could add to that tally.
Brimfulofattitude has had two starts so far, finishing third on both occasions. There were clear signs of improvement when beaten by less than two lengths from a wider draw over course and distance last time. Richard Fahey’s filly has the benefit of stall one here and could take full advantage.
Hundred Caps is still relatively lightly raced and it certainly bodes well that he’s already a course and distance winner. He took full advantage when blitzing them from stall one that day and could repeat the trick with the same draw here. Currently on just a 1lb higher mark, another big run could be on the cards.
