Horse racing is in Liam's blood and his biggest passion is jumps racing. He can often be found at his favourite tracks; Chepstow and Cheltenham in the Autumn when the National Hunt action kicks off. In his own words: "I'm often referred to as a walking form book, a trait which comes in handy from time to time. My proudest tipping success to date was landing a whopping 682-1 accumulator at Epsom."
Cheltenham Festival Handicap Each-Way Lucky 15
15 bets on 4 horses picked by our tipsters. One winner for small return, 4 for full returns.
The Cheltenham Festival will soon be upon us and the excitement is beginning to build. With the handicap weights being announced last week, we have plenty more to ponder ahead of the season’s main event.
Beyond Your Dreams (10/1, bet365) represents Joseph O’Brien, who has won this twice in the last six years, including in 2024 with Lark In The Mornin. He has the perfect profile for the race, being a lightly raced improver who won last time out, and you might want to take the 10/1 while it lasts.
An Peann Dearg (14/1, bet365) has progressed nicely over the winter and beat the useful My Mate Mozzie in good style at the Dublin Racing Festival when last seen. The handicapper has given him a mark of 134 and provided he manages to get in, that could significantly underestimate him.
Sa Fureur (16/1, bet365) won a Listed handicap chase at Navan in December with plenty in hand and it’s noted that connections opted to run him over hurdles next time. Clearly they didn’t want to sabotage his current mark and that’s a sign that they’re hopeful of a big run.
McLaurey (8/1, bet365) put in a thoroughly professional display to win on handicap debut in a good race at Leopardstown last month and appears to be well ahead of the handicapper. Emmet Mullins’ gelding is likely to get into the race and there could be any amount of improvement still to come.
