Friday is Day 4 of Royal Ascot and the top-class action just keeps coming. There are two Group 1 races to look forward to. These are the Commonwealth Cup and the Coronation Stakes. They are well supported with an awesome supporting card of Group races and handicaps. Check out our Royal Ascot page for expertly selected tips in every race across the five days.
Lady Bullet (16-1, Paddy Power) won on debut at Doncaster over 5f before improving to win in smart fashion over 6f at Ripon. Obviously she will need to make a significant step forward again to feature here but she is capable of doing so. Alice Haynes’ filly has already progressed significantly in her short career and there could be much more to come on just her third start.
It’s dangerous to let an Aidan O’Brien horse go off at massive odds even as a general rule. In the case of Cadamosto (50-1, Paddy Power), there’s a legitimate argument that he’ll finish in the frame. On the form of last year’s Norfolk Stakes he surely can’t go off at his current price. He was beaten less than a length by Perfect Power and Go Bears Go after a very slow start. That was his best piece of form and he hasn’t had the good to firm ground that he gets here since that run.
Augmentarium (50-1, William Hill) certainly isn’t a no-hoper. The form of her win at Kempton in October has been boosted by the fourth winning twice since and a further three subsequent winners coming out of it. She wasn’t beaten far on seasonal debut and can improve for that with the benefit of a run under her belt. Clearly she’ll need to progress but she’s lightly raced on just her second handicap start and there’s enough substance to her form to suggest this price is too big.
