It’s been a busy week for ITV racing and they’re set for their busiest day of the week on Sunday. There are no fewer than 10 races on the schedule which provides us with plenty of each-way opportunities. We’ve selected four outsiders at odds of 33/1, 25/1, 16/1 and 14/1 that are more than capable of outrunning their odds. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
My Margie (33/1, bet365) began the year with back-to-back successes over a mile and an extended mile on the all-weather. She was a little out of her depth when finishing down the field in the Sandringham at Royal Ascot and it’s easy to forgive that. Connections dropped her back to 6f at Newmarket last time out and that didn’t suit at all. The 7f trip here should suit better and she’s worth giving a go at this price.
Percy Shelley (16/1, William Hill) showed some more positive signs when keeping on to finish fifth by just over two lengths here over 1m6f. He continues to slide down the weights and he shaped as if the step up to two miles will suit. Now 1lb lower than when last seen, it’s surely only a matter of time until he gains a first victory on these shores.
Zarzyni (14/1, bet365) hasn’t won a race since September 2022 but he has put in some good efforts in defeat since. He was a neck away from winning at Redcar recently and is currently on a 1lb lower mark. On that evidence he’s well worth an each-way play and David & Nicola Barron’s gelding is entitled to go close once again.
Call Me Ginger (25/1, Paddy Power) has been horrifically out of form so far this season but his mark is very appealing as a result. His last success came at Ascot in September off a mark of 87 and it’s difficult to ignore the fact that his current rating is 14lb lower. There are obvious risks attached but he’s more than capable of running a big race.
