‘She’s the banker of the week’ – Don’t miss Charlie Sharp’s Goodwood Day 3 treble

Our man Charlie Sharp is a Goodwood local and he knows what it takes to win at the track. His Lucky 15 and accumulator pieces can be viewed now so check them out too. Thursday marks Day 3 of Glorious Goodwood and Charlie has picked out three horses who can be combined into a juicy treble. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

1.55 Goodwood

Havana Hurricane (10/3, bet365) only cost 9,000 guineas and is proving himself to be the bargain of a lifetime for his owners. Two wins and two seconds including a win at Royal Ascot. He also possesses something very key over his rivals, winning course experience. Goodwood can be a tough track for sprinters. You need to have balance and speed, and he has both in abundance.

2.30 Goodwood

Merchant (11/8, bet365) comes here seeking a hat-trick of victories following his stunning King George V Stakes Handicap victory at Royal Ascot. He’s clearly a Group horse and his form was franked after the second finished two lengths behind Lambourn in the Irish Derby.

This looks like the right step for him to get his first win in Group company and set up a crack in the Great Voltigeur Stakes at York in three weeks time.

3.05 Goodwood

Whirl (11/8, bet365) has continued to progress with every run of her career and she could go one further and win back-to-back Group 1s. The winner of the Musidora then followed up with a narrow second behind Minnie Hauk in the Oaks.

She then made a successful step up into open company when beating Kalpana in the Pretty Polly. It’s hard to argue with the form as Kalpana is now favourite for the Arc after finishing second in the King George behind Calandagan last weekend. She’s the banker of the week.
