‘She could be anything’ – Three Irish raiders to watch at York on Thursday

There’s always Irish interest at Britain’s big meetings and the Ebor Festival is no different. There are several horses coming over to York from Ireland on Thursday and there are three who look particularly interesting. With this in mind, we’ve taken a close look at each of their chances of coming out on top and they include a Dermot Weld-trained filly who really could be anything. Take a look at our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

3.35 York

Minnie Hauk has won both the English and Irish Oaks now and there won’t be many willing to take her on here. The form of her Epsom success is impossible to knock as she got the better of stablemate Whirl, who has since gone on to win two Group 1s. Estrange is probably her biggest competition but she won’t be suited by the fast ground Minnie Hauk surely has the other two covered.

4.10 York

Alice Monet is very lightly raced and she’s a fascinating runner, stepping into Listed company for the first time. It would be unlike Dermot Weld to run a no-hoper and with that in mind, she could be one to watch. Winning a claimer by 10 lengths last month, she then followed up with a cosy success in a Leopardstown handicap. This is a steep step up but she could be absolutely anything.

5.20 York

Bonus Time is also very lightly raced and Paddy Twomey’s filly has finished first or second in all four starts thus far. Making just her second start in handicap company here, the daughter of Too Darn Hot was only just denied at Leopardstown last month and there should be loads more to come.
