‘She can capitalise on a drop in grade’ – Adrian Wall’s Nap of the day on Wednesday

It has been a great month or two for the Nap of the day and we are currently sitting inside the top five on the Racing Post Naps Competition. Hoping to build on some good successes of late, I think a filly at Bath on Wednesday is worthy of a bet. Make sure you check out our free horse racing tips which are live on the website right now.

4.42 Bath

Despite having the burden of top weight, Ciara Pearl is going to appreciate dropping into 0-80 company off the back of another terrific effort when second in a 0-90 handicap at Salisbury last month. She can land the 1m3½f handicap.

Trained by Daniel & Claire Kubler, the filly will be ridden by the talented Jack Mitchell who rode her to victory at Lingfield last year and was aboard last time when only beaten half a length in a premier fillies’ handicap off a mark of 79.

Ciara Pearl is 2lb higher in the weights now but she’s still on an upward trajectory and that hike is offset by the fact she will face less stiff opposition on this occasion. She enjoys a sound surface and the trip is ideal so she will have no excuses.

The main danger on paper at least is the John & Thady Gosden runner Divine Presence who was narrowly touched off at this track over 1m2f in May before winning at Wolverhampton on handicap debut when upped to 1m4f.

She was sent off favourite for a good Newbury handicap where she finished third and has plenty of scope to improve also, so she is a threat.
