Saturday’s 1885-1 ITV mega accumulator

There’s plenty of action to look forward to on Saturday, with a quite outstanding nine meetings in store! Naas, Lingfield, Nottingham, Cork, Haydock, Ascot, Hexham, Warwick and Thirsk are all on the agenda, with the ITV cameras pitching up at Ascot and Lingfield.

We’ll have horse racing tips for all the action, but our ITV mega accumulator is not to be missed. We’ve found six horses at shorter prices to form a 1885-1 mega and you can find all the details, including reasoning, below!

1.55 Ascot – Lights On

Lightly-raced four-year-old who was progressive in 2020, breaking her handicap duck on reappearance at Nottingham eleven days ago. That was an impressive performance, as despite looking fresh, she was well on top at the line.

She’s gone up seven pounds for that, but she’s thoroughly unexposed for top connections and Sir Michael Stoute’s string are in excellent form at present, which gives her excellent claims of going back to back.

2.15 Lingfield – Technique

40,000gns purchase who made a winning debut at Wolverhampton in January. Immediately pitched into a Listed race at Epsom last month, she out-ran odds of 22-1 to go down by just a head. Travelling much the best throughout and looking the winner heading into the final furlong, she was just outbattled by another promising rival.

On paper, this is a weaker contest than the Blue Riband Trial and with an extra furlong in distance in her favour, she can return to winning ways under Sean Levey.

2.30 Ascot – Albaflora

Made a winning debut at Haydock last June and was aimed high for the remainder of the campaign. That included a trio of pattern titles, finishing second in both a Group 3 and Listed contest, latterly at today’s venue.

She went down by just a head to the useful Berkshire Rocco and she makes her return over two furlongs shorter, which should suit her better. The rain has come just in time for her and she’s just the type to excel as a four-year-old, especially after just five career starts.

2.50 Lingfield – Adayar

Our NAP of the Day for Saturday, this Frankel colt has been highly progressive in three starts thus far. Sent off favourite on debut, he underperformed to finish fourth, but made amends two weeks later to score handsomely over the same course and distance.

Those two efforts came as a juvenile and on his first three-year-old start, he went down by just half a length at Sandown. Given that he fluffed the start and didn’t have the best of passages, that effort can be heavily upgraded. In terms of fitness, he should be just right now and stretched out to the 1m 3f trip, he can take another big step in the right direction.

3.25 Lingfield – Bounce The Blues

Joint-highest rated in the line-up, previously trained in Ireland by John Feane. A Listed winner for those connections, he joined Andrew Balding subsequently, placing in a pair of subsequent pattern races to end 2020.

She shaped well on her seasonal return at Doncaster in a Listed contest and given last year’s form, she should be all the better for that effort. The yard are in red-hot form and given her progressive profile, she could be set for a very strong campaign.

4.00 Lingfield – Turn On The Charm

Just the four runners for this handicap and it’s a modest affair in terms of quality. James Fanshawe’s charge was a dual winner last year, landing handicaps at both Kempton and Nottingham. He was most recently seen back at Nottingham on seasonal return, where he didn’t have a smooth passage.

He was forced to wait for a gap for much of the straight and when he did get into the clear, he wasn’t helped by the race turning into a sprint. There shouldn’t be a lack of pace, despite the lack of runners, and he can take full advantage.
