The ITV cameras are back for more Saturday racing action and there’s plenty on offer. ITV Racing will be showing eight races across three cards which will give you plenty to sink your teeth into. This also provides plenty of opportunity to find some outsiders that can outrun their odds. Liam Bramall has picked out three horses whose chances are better than their prices suggest. Raasel (12-1, Paddy Power) improved exponentially between September and November last year, winning all five starts in this time. He has already won again this term off a career-high mark of 94 and has since placed off his current mark of 101. There is no doubt that he has earned a crack at Listed level and it would be no surprise to see him run a massive race.
Universal Order (16-1, bet365) would have needed the run badly last time as it was his first start for 602 days. There’s also no disgrace in being beaten by 11 lengths at the hands of Al Aasy especially after the lay-off. Providing he doesn’t bounce, this six-year-old should be a lot fitter for this excursion. His form over the years has been decent in Group 3 and Listed company so the return to handicap company off this mark of 102 is highly intriguing.
James Fanshawe has a knack for squeezing improvement out of fillies and mares as they get older. Fanshawe runs Viola (20-1, bet365) and there’s some form from not too long ago that suggests she should be closer to the favourite than the prices suggest. Back in September, Viola was beaten by a narrow margin by race-favourite Sea La Rosa off level weights. She beat this rival giving her a pound when the two met the time before. A return to the turf looks likely to suit and if she can repeat that level of form, her price could look ridiculous.
