Ryan Moore landed a four-timer when last seen and rides two at Sandown on Friday

Ryan Moore is the best Flat jockey on the planet at the moment and his recent form has been frighteningly good. He hasn’t had any rides since landing four winners from four rides at the Curragh on Saturday so his appearance at Sandown on Friday is of obvious interest. Set to take one ride for Gary & Josh Moore and one for Sir Michael Stoute, these two horses are certainly worth a watch. 2.25 Sandown

Spirit Of Breeze has a monster absence of 401 days to overcome and connections will need to have him very fit if he’s to come out on top here. Gary & Josh Moore’s four-year-old remains lightly raced and managed to get off the mark in a 6f handicap at Leicester in July 2023.

The drop down to the minimum trip may not necessarily suit on the evidence of that effort. He needed every yard of it when just getting up on the line. That being said, Ryan Moore is a fantastic judge of pace and positive tactics could be employed, which would drastically increase his chances.

Jonquil makes his debut for Sir Michael Stoute here and you would imagine will improve for the run. Thus impeccably bred son of Lope De Vega is a distant relation of Frankel and his pedigree therefore stand out a mile in this race. Stoute has three winners from just 13 juvenile runners so far this year and this one could easily add to the tally.

It’s also worth noting that Moore’s general strike-rate in the last fortnight has been very good. He has picked up 14 winners from 33 rides in this time, giving him a more than healthy strike-rate of 42 per cent. This is surely an ominous sign for his rivals and further victories here can’t be ruled out.
