Ffos Las has been a happy hunting ground for Ralph Beckett so far this season, as two of his three runners managed to win. This gives him an eye-catching strike-rate of 67 per cent and it makes his sole representative at the track on Wednesday one to look out for. Charming Princess has a fairly smart pedigree and she should be winning races before long. Sire Wootton Bassett is quickly earning a reputation as an excellent sire, particularly with his Ballydoyle progeny. Her dam placed in Listed company and had a career high rating of 105.
Costing 300,000 guineas at the sales, connections will be looking for a return in their investment sooner rather than later. Ralph Beckett has a 38 per cent strike-rate at Ffos in the last five years and that’s very healthy indeed. This is just her second start and improvement seems likely here.
