Raider alert: four Irish runners at Cartmel form Lucky 15 on Monday ☘️

Cartmel Racecourse

There’s a competitive meeting at Cartmel on Monday and there’s also an added layer of intrigue. Irish trainer Noel Kelly sends three runners and John McConnell sends two over, which could be significant. We’ve combined four of these runners into a Lucky 15 for you to consider. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

1.50 Cartmel

Bodhisattva (4-1, William Hill) was an easy winner at Perth for Gordon Elliott back in May and was perhaps a tad disappointing when third of three at Hexham on stable debut. He was fifth in a valuable and competitive race at Galway last time out and this looks significantly easier. John McConnell’s charge is more than capable of winning this and he probably should.

2.20 Cartmel

Kellyiscool (17-2, Paddy Power) was missing for 463 days before making his debut for Charles Byrnes in June. He then changed hands and has made two starts for Noel Kelly, both on these shores. His third over course and distance last time out was a much improved effort. If he can build on that run, there’s every chance he’ll be in the mix here. This gelding is winless in 20 career starts but he has shown enough to suggest he’s capable of getting off the mark.

3.30 Cartmel

That’s Me Finished (33-1, bet365) probably has a point to prove, on the evidence of his seven starts to date. Noel Kelly’s six-year-old was a disappointing fourth of four in a novice hurdle over course and distance last time out. He also showed little in three handicap starts over in Ireland but this low grade event is probably much easier. Improvement is needed but there could be more to come.

4.40 Cartmel

Jumping Susie (9-4, bet365) has filled the runner-up spot in three of her five starts over hurdles and was denied by the narrowest of margins at Killarney last time. This is her handicap debut and improvement is expected in this sphere, especially off this very reasonable opening mark. The 2m6f trip here could be ideal and this is a great opportunity to get off the mark.
