Market Mover: Joseph O’Brien horse backed from 25-1 into 6-1 at Dundalk

Our resident horse racing man Adrian Wall has always been an avid market watcher. He has spotted a pretty large ongoing gamble taking place in the 5.30pm at Dundalk Racecourse this evening. Don’t miss out on our posts on Twitter @myracingtips where you can message us directly and have your say. Our free horse racing tips are also available every single day and we have been in terrific form this month. Let’s take a closer look at this big gamble in more detail below.

5.30 Dundalk

Joseph O’Brien has a very good record with his juvenile runners at Dundalk, and it has to be interesting that a flurry of money has come for Celestial Reign, with Declan McDonagh booked for the ride. The well bred son of Zoffany was sent off an unfancied 33/1 chance on debut here in November, but he was never a factor.

Drawn in stall 17 on the night, he had a hopeless task at the first time of asking anyway as he had such a tough draw to try and navigate. It was probably a run where some track experience was needed and you can be sure that wasn’t his true running. He is drawn high in 13 tonight and that’s not ideal, but it’s not as bad as 17.

Clearly connections are expecting a big run. This lad was an expensive €200,000 yearling and he’s a brother to Ventura Storm who won an Italian Group 1 and had a Racing Post Rating of 115. Bred to get a longer trip, the step up from 7f to a mile is a good move and he should run a nice race.
