Market Mover Alert: Horse backed from 22-1 into 11-1 in Galway’s big handicap

Our resident horse racing man Adrian Wall has always been an avid market watcher. He has spotted a pretty large ongoing gamble taking place in the 2.30pm at Galway Racecourse today. Don’t miss out on our posts on Twitter @myracingtips where you can message us directly and have your say. Our free horse racing tips are also available every single day and we have been in terrific form this month. Let’s take a closer look at this big gamble in more detail below.

2.30 Galway

The Listed handicap hurdle sponsored by BoyleSports is a ferociously competitive affair on paper so any worthwhile market movers have to be looked at. By far the best backed horse in the race this morning is the Dermot McLoughlin trained Digby, who has halved in price already today from juicy prices on offer last night.

Down at the foot of the weights, Digby’s rider will have to carry only 10-11 but Paddy O’Hanlon can also claim an extra 5lb so weight certainly won’t be a problem for this horse. He had his first run in the bones of a year when a respectable third at Roscommon over hurdles in June, which should have put him spot on for this fitness wise.

Digby was sent off one of the market leaders for this very race last year and he was right up there with the leaders approaching the third last flight when he fell. Effectively 6lb lower here this year taking the weights and the rider’s claim into account, if they have him in similar order he could run another huge race this year.
