Major market mover: Our 16/1 tip has been smashed into 4/1 on Tuesday

It’s always a good idea to keep an eye on what the betting markets are doing, as you can gain a good idea about the level of confidence behind a horse. Sometimes there are substantial market movers that warrant special attention and that’s the case on Tuesday.

Ellie’s Warrior is lightly raced and thoroughly unexposed in handicap company and it’s easy to see why she has gained such strong market support. This looks like a very winnable race and Ben Clarke’s six-year-old only made her handicap debut at Plumpton last time out.

She hadn’t shown a great deal in her first three starts over hurdles but there were some positive signs at Plumpton. Running well for a long way, the 3m1f trip on soft ground appeared to stretch her and the drop back in trip combined with quicker ground should be a big help.

Champion Hurdle-winning trainer Jeremy Scott trains the current favourite, Elusiveness, and she has slipped to a nice mark. Sevenofus was a good second off this mark here over 2m3f last time out and she’s set to be in the mix. Likely to be fine with the trip, she’s a three-mile point-to-point winner.
