Market watching is always a wise thing to do as we can gain some perspective on the confidence behind a particular horse. There’s a substantial gamble underway at Leicester on Thursday morning. One horse which was priced up at 40-1 the previous evening has been subject to sustained market support.
The horse in question is now available at just 6-1, a mere fraction of its original price. This certainly could be a situation to keep an eye on throughout the day. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.
Rita Rana (6-1, bet365) hasn’t been in the best of form so far this season. Adrian Wintle’s filly has had three starts and was well beaten in a weak event at Windsor last time out. She was unpopular in the betting in two handicap starts and was beaten by a combined total of 20 lengths. Due to go down 1lb in the weights for that latest effort, she reappears here on an unchanged mark.
This horse has proven herself capable of winning, having scored at Epsom in July. The horse she beat that day won earlier this week. Her best efforts have come at Brighton, where she has finished second twice in two starts and Epsom, winning and finishing third in two starts. Gina Mangan takes 3lb off here and that could make a difference.
Having won off 51 in July, winning off this mark of 47 certainly isn’t out of the question. Adrian Wintle had a winner at Chepstow earlier this week and the market is suggesting he could have another one here. Someone somewhere seems to be expecting a big run from her and you wouldn’t want to rule her out. One thing is for sure, this is a market move worth keeping an eye on throughout the afternoon.
