Lucky 15: Harry Cobden bids to follow up awesome Ascot four-timer on Friday 🔥

People questioned Harry Cobden’s decision to get off Bravemansgame at Haydock last month, in order to ride at Ascot. The doubters were quickly silenced as Cobden rode a magnificent four-timer on the day, from just four rides. He returns to the track on Friday and four of his five rides are for regular boss Paul Nicholls. We’ve combined those into a Lucky 15 for you to consider. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

1.20 Ascot

Welcom To Cartries has plenty of potential and he was a wide-margin winner of his sole Irish point. Paul Nicholls’ charge only just failed to get the better of the useful Beat The Bat on hurdles debut here last month. The extra two furlongs are likely to suit, on the evidence of that run, and he’s entitled to improve.

1.55 Ascot

Lallygag was rather useful over hurdles last season, winning three times at up to 2m3f. For that reason he was rather disappointing on his debut over fences at Newbury earlier this month. The handicapper has dropped him 2lb since and he’s definitely capable of much better. It could be worth giving him another chance here.

3.05 Kempton

Kandoo Kid has been disrupted by injury problems in the last couple of years and it’s been good to see him get a clear run of things so far this season. He got off the mark over fences in a competitive handicap at Newbury last time out and can continue on an upward trajectory, now heading into graded company.

3.40 Ascot

Captain Bellamy bolted up in an Irish point at Dromahane in April and won easily on his rules debut at Chepstow in October, despite showing signs of greenness. Plenty of improvement is expected now and he’ll be Cheltenham-bound in March if extending his unbeaten run here.
