‘Low numbers thrive over 5f’ – Three horses to take advantage of Beverley’s draw bias

Every track is unique and Beverley has a particularly stiff 5f track as well as a pronounced draw bias. Due to the fact that higher drawn horses start more uphill, those drawn in the low number thrive, particularly over 5f. There’s still a small advantage for low drawn horses over further, it’s just a little less severe. 2.45 Beverley

Maddelina has a nice draw down in stall 3 and she was an eye-catching third on debut at Carlisle. Plenty went wrong on the day as she was slow to get going before having to wait for a gap and then got hampered. She’s entitled to improve for the run and can get off the mark here at the second time of asking, with some better luck in running.

Blue Force (stall four) was well suited by the stiff 5f trip when getting off the mark at Newcastle earlier this month. He remains thoroughly unexposed in handicap company and should continue on an upward trajectory. The handicapper has responded with a 3lb rise but that shouldn’t be enough to stop him, especially as Alex Jary comes in for the ride and takes 5lb off.

Capital Guarantee returned to form with a much improved second at Thirsk last time out. David O’Meara’s four-year-old has the stall one draw in his favour here and should run a huge race, reappearing off the same mark. His highest winning mark is 80 so it’ll be very disappointing if he’s not bang in the mix.
