Liam Bramall’s Road to Cheltenham: 6-1 tip for the Arkle could be the answer 💡

There were plenty of Cheltenham pointers on offer over the Christmas period. We had Kempton and Chepstow in Britain which included an excellent King George. More pointers were on offer at Leopardstown’s Christmas meeting however. One horse in particular took my eye and should now be ready to compete at the top table. My focus this week is the Arkle, the pinnacle for novice chasers over two miles. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

Arkle Challenge Trophy Novices’ Chase

Dysart Dynamo (6-1, bet365) was an untameable force of nature last season. His jockeys had no choice other than to let him loose and hope he didn’t burn out. He won his first four starts under rules and that included a 19-length demolition job in a Grade 2 novice hurdle at Punchestown.

The wheels fell off a bit in the spring where the big occasions of Cheltenham and Punchestown overwhelmed him. It was still obvious that this horse possesses all the ability in the world despite those mishaps.

Willie Mullins’ charge could hardly have been more impressive on chase debut at Leopardstown. Despite still being very free and keen, he was very athletic and clever at his obstacles which bodes well for the future. There’s a high chance he has more respect for fences than he did hurdles.

This season could be a big one for him as that performance suggested his chaotic nature has been converted into controlled chaos. Some improvement will be needed with regards to jumping and settling but as that was his seasonal and chase debut, you can expect its forthcoming.

The currently available 6-1 is going to look a big price if he wins a graded race next time out in a similar fashion. Leopardstown could again be on the cards at February’s Dublin Racing Festival and an impressive win there will surely see his price collapse.
