Ken Condon sends one horse on 780-mile round trip to Newbury and she’s 12-1 ⛴️

Irish trainer Ken Condon is sending one runner all the way to Newbury Racecourse on Saturday. Based in Rathbride in County Kildare in Ireland, the total journey is roughly a 780 mile round trip. Given the expense for fuel at the moment, it will cost a hefty sum to get this horse over to the English track so they aren’t going for the fun of it, that’s for sure. Best of luck if you do have a bet on the horse and remember to always only bet what you can afford to lose.

2.15 Newbury

There has only been one Irish winner of the Group 3 World Trophy Stakes at Newbury this century and that was Maarek in 2013. Nonetheless, Ken Condon is sending Teresa Mendoza over to take her chance and she certainly does have a squeak.

The four-year-old filly had an awful draw in stall one to overcome in the Group 3 Ballyogan Stakes at Naas last month, but despite her awful draw she flew home and was only beaten three parts of a length into third by Perfect News and Benefit, the pair of British raiders.

Now it is her turn to raid British shores and if they go a strong clip up front, it should set the race up nicely for her. She had to cut through the field when winning a Listed race at the Curragh in the summer.

Although she is without doubt tricky to win with and she will need a very good and well timed ride, she could be a solid each-way play at the prices and she isn’t travelling over just to make up the numbers.
