‘Keep an eye on the market’ – Ronan McNally sends two horses to Ayr on Monday 👀

Irish trainer Ronan McNally has been in the limelight for the wrong reasons of late and there is an ongoing investigation with regard to many issues at his yard.

However, it has to be hugely interesting that he sends two horses to run at Ayr Racecourse on Monday and they will both run in the same race. This has to arouse suspicion as we all know the yard like to pull off a stroke now and again.

Check out our free horse racing tips on the website. Our Nap of the Day in particular is in brilliant form.

2.45 Ayr

On paper, Vee Dancer looks to be McNally’s biggest chance of a winner in this interesting Class 2 0-145 rated handicap over three miles. The gelding hasn’t been seen over hurdles since December 2021, where he racked up a three-timer in impressive fashion at Catterick. He won handicaps all at long odds-on that time so he was clearly miles ahead of the assessor. Now 14lb higher in the weights, he had two spins on the Flat recently and that should have him spot on for this.

The more interesting runner of the pair has to be The Jam Man. Connections have booked Brian Hughes to ride this horse which could be a real sign of intent. He hasn’t won a race since landing a huge gamble at Navan over fences in 2020, but he did finish second at Warwick this time 12 months ago in a Pertemps qualifier. Second to Sporting John on the day, he is now 6lb lower in the weights and he has won around here before so any market moves could be significant.
