Jonjo O’Neill Jr is 3/4 at Catterick and his Wednesday rides form a 146/1 treble

Jonjo O’Neill Jr will be happy to be heading back to Catterick on Wednesday, as it’s been a lucky track for him so far this season. He has had three winners from four rides there, giving him a 75 per cent strike-rate, and he’ll be riding three more on Wednesday. All three horses have big chances on recent form so we’ve combined them into a treble. One of them was an impressive winner last time and could go well once again. 1.17 Catterick

Nobodytellsmenothin (6/1, bet365) made his debut in a bumper at Worcester in October and he ran a nice race to finish second. Third at Ludlow next time, he didn’t quite have the pace to challenge on that occasion. The son of Youmzain made his first start over hurdles in a course and distance novice hurdle last month and he went on to score comfortably. He should run well again, despite carrying a penalty.

2.50 Catterick

Mersey Street (5/1, bet365) has had 15 previous starts over hurdles and the eight-year-old managed to get off the mark in a Fakenham handicap last January. Coming very close here over fences over Christmas, he was a short head away from winning. He’s up 4lb now but further progress can’t be ruled out, as he remains lightly raced in this sphere.

3.20 Catterick

Rukaana (5/2, bet365) took his time to win over hurdles but managed to do so in good style at Windsor on New Year’s Day. Winning with plenty in hand that day, he pulled six lengths clear of the runner-up and it’s hard to argue with the 9lb rise.
