Jockey with 50% strike-rate at Fakenham last season has sole Tuesday ride

Tuesday’s racing comes from four venues, a big step up from the pair on Monday. Fakenham, Limerick, Lingfield and Ayr all host action, with the latter staging its first jump’s meeting of the campaign. We’ll have horse racing tips for all the racing, including a NAP of the Day and Lucky 15 tips.

One jockey who will be enjoying a trip back to Fakenham on Tuesday is Tom Cannon, who won on five of his 10 rides at the venue last season. He has a sole ride at the venue on Tuesday for Alan King, who also has a healthy strike-rate at Fakenham. In the last five seasons, he’s sent 24 runners there, with seven returning home as winners. Can the combination strike gold? Find all our analysis below!

3.00 Fakenham – Weatherbys Hamilton Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase

The sole runner is Major Dundee, who runs in the colours of the late Trevor Hemmings. A bumper winner on debut at Southwell in May 2019, he ran to a good standard over hurdles, although he did fail to improve as expected. He got off the mark at the sixth attempt, scoring at Chepstow in March, before a below-par effort at Ayr.

He shaped as though something was amiss that day and he’s worth a second chance, especially as he now goes over fences. Given his size and stature, he should improve plenty for a switch to this sphere and his current mark of 124 is more than fair on his best form. Ground conditions will be ideal today and the yard is starting to hit form.

A return to his trip is another positive to his chances and having run well fresh in the past, he can make his presence felt at an each-way price under Cannon.
